On September 2nd. 2010 Elaine and I headed east. Our final destination was Mendota Heights, Minnesota with stops in Worland, Wyoming, and Dickinson North Dakota.
I took a lot of photos, but forget to take my camera along on several side trips, and I didn't get as many photos of people as I should have.
Our first night was spent in Big timber, Montana. The next day we drove to Worland to visit Marlene (Mertz) Moore and her family.
Here are some photos I took in Worland.
The next day we went to Dickinson, North Dakota where we spent the night at Joel Bleth's home.We had dinner with Edwin and Lorrie Lefor, and the next night Joel threw a big nice dinner. Joel's brother, Gary, and his wife attended as well as Joel and Gary's mother. There were others in attendance as well. Joel's daughter and some family friends. Nancy made a wonderful beef stew with the trimmings.
The next day we drove to Mendota Heights which is south of St. Paul where Brent and Allie live.Brent and Allie wined and dined us. We had a dinner at Allie's parent's home which is always a treat. They are such wonderful hosts.
While we were at Brent and Allie's they took us sight seeing around the Minneapolis area.
Here are some pictures of Minneapolis and surrounding area.
Some sights around the Twin Cities.
One of the places we visited in Minneapolis was the Sculpture Gardens somewhere in Minneapolis.
Of course a visit to Minneapolis wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Mall of America.
Mall of America.
One day we visited Target Field, the home of the Minnesota Twins. We didn't get to see inside on this trip.
On another day we drove to Hudson, Wisconsin. I really liked this town. It sits on the banks of the St. Criox River. There are parks all along the shore of the river in town.
While we were walking around town we stumbled into this store where they sold glass vases, glasses, and other glass products. We happened to be there when a man and woman were making a glass vase. We watched them for a while. Very skillful people those glass artists.
On the way home we stayed at Joel's. again. I took some photos of his beautiful home.
