This web page is about the motorcycle rides I went on while we were in Texas in May and June,2014.

Nancy's neighbor, David (Rolo) Canchola lends me his Honda VTX 1800 to ride while I an there, and I have done so for the last three years. Nancy is our daughter, and she and her family live in Georgetown.

I contacted some members of the local VROC ( Vulcan Riders Owners Club) via their Delphi Forum to see if I could get someone to ride with. I got several responses, and I was able to ride with them on several different occasions.

I had to take the bike to have it inspected. I took it to the local Kawasaki dealer which was close to Nancy's.This was on June 3rd. It passed.

I met Bill Baxter on the Kawasaki Vulcan Forum, and we made arrangements to meet that Tuesday. We did meet for coffee, and made plans for a ride to Bastrop on the next day,Wednesday June 4th.

The next day, the 4th., I met Bill at the Dairy Queen off of I-35 and Road 79. .We rode to the CVS Pharmacy at the junction of Parmer Lane and Dessua Rd.There we met O.J.Miles, Ken McLellan, Judy ?, Matt Marten, Kieth Holder, Desi Mora, and Jeff Kilgore. I don't know who led us on the ride to Bastrop, but it was a fun ride. Lots of back country roads with lots of twists and curves. We had breakfast at Maxine's, a local and old time restaurant.I usually carry my camera, but for some reason I forgot to take it with me on this ride. I did take a few pics with my cell phone.I am sorry that I didn't take time to get to know each of you,but we all seem to be in a hurry to get somewhere. Anyway, I did enjoy riding with you all.

I finally figured out how to upload images from my cell phone to my computer, so here are a few pics I took on our Bastrop ride.

I did not ride on the 5th. or the 6th. because of family doings. Went to Louie Mueller's on Thursday, and Walburg to see the Walburg Boys play on Friday night.

I don't know who arranged the ride to Luckenbach on the 7th. Jefe?,but it was one of the best rides I have ever been on. I had been there before, but I got there via the 'touristy roads' which was OK, but not like this ride. I was supposed to meet Bill at the DQ off of Road 79 and I-35, but I got off on the wrong exit, and Bill had to find me.After we finally met we rode to the La Tapatia Restaurant at the intersection of FM1431 and Hwy183. There we met Jefe, and he took us on the ride to Luckenbach. We followed him, continuing on FR1431 to Marble Falls. Then we went south on US281. At FR1323 we went west to Hwy.16 where we went south to Fredrickburg, and US 290 east until Luckenbach Road.

I did remember my camera on this trip, and I took a lot of photos, and I had to reduce the number of them, so you won't get bored, so here goes.
