On Saturday April 28th. 2012 the Washington State Southern Cruisers Riding Club held its 4th. annual ride to Palouse Falls and the Lyon's Ferry Marina.
Mark,Jeff, Rick, and I started out at the K-Mart parking lot in Yakima. We left there at around 10:40 in the ayem. We rode to the Vernita Bridge rest area for a break, and then we continued on to Connell which is where the gathering area is and has been for this ride.
We got to Connell around 11:30. We filled our gas tanks, coffeed up, and waited for the rest of the riders from the Seattle area and two riders from Spokane.
I had invited members of the PNWVROC from Spokane to jion us, and Vickie (epibunny) and Buzz did.
Around 1:00 PM we left Connell in three groups heading for Palouse Falls State Park.We had between 25 and 30 bikes, so David split us up into the three groups.
We all met at the State Park, but some of us didn't have a Pass, nor did we buy on there. They give you a 15 minute grace period, and that's about how much time I spent there along with several others.
After the Park we all met at Lyon's Ferry Marina for lunch.Epibunny and Buzz were delayed because Epibunny became ill at the Falls, but nobody was aware of it until they showed up just as we were leaving on our return.I sopke with her, and she is OK now.
When we got to the marina for lunch Smithee and two of his riding buddies were already there. We all ordered lunch and visited with each other.
we had planned on returning through the Tri-Cities, and the Seattle group had plans to spend the night in Richland.Mark said he knew some different back roads into Pasco from what I did, so he led us all into Richland.
We all stopped in Richland for gas and final farewells, and we, the Yakima group headed for Benton City with the intent of riding back roads back to Yakima, but because of the late hour we took I-82 home.
As usual this SCRC event was fun, because of the ride, but mostly because we all get to see one another again.
Thank you David Niles for arranging this ride.
Now for some pics I took.
Well, that's about it for 2012.
