Nancy's neighbor,Rollo, owns a Honda VTX 1800 motorcycle, and he offered me the opportunity to ride it while we were at Nancy's, and I took him up on his offer.

On Saturday the 17th.I took a 200 mile round trip from Georgetown west on Hwy 29.I went through the towns of Bertram,Burnet,Buchanan Dam and the dam itself, and Llano. At Llano I headed south on Hwy. 16 and ended up in Fredricksburg which was my destination.

Highway 16 from Llano to Fredricksburg is a smooth, wide, and sometimes twisty road with a speed limit of 70 MPH. In other words, a perfect motorcycle road. And the fields were full of blue bonnets. Just about everywhere you went every field was covered with bluebonnets.

Some information about the Bluebonnets in Texas in the spring.

I stopped in Fredericksburg for lunch. This town is a tourist trap, kind of like Leavenworth in Washington. It was crowded, and I had trouble finding a restaurant where I didn't have to wait for more than a hour.I had a cheeseburger and fries, and went back the was I came. I thought about going to Lukenbach, but with the spring break crowds I decided against it.

On the 21st. I started out to meet some local SCRC members for breakfast. I got on I-35 going south, but some how I missed my exit.By the time I figured out that I couldn't make the breakfast I was almost in downtown Austin, so I just kept going.I finally stopped in San Marcos for coffee and gas, and I headed back north from there. I got off of the freeway once for lunch , and I got lost for about half an hour. I finally found I-35 and made it back to Georgetown OK.
